DIY FOLDING CHAIRS

GIVE YOUR FOLDING CHAIRS A NEW LOOK!!!

I just had to share a fun DIY project...  My grandma passed away last November and my dad was cleaning out her house before it was going to be torn down, and I noticed these chairs were tucked away in his storage shed & I thought to myself before my dad throws those chairs out I ought to redo them.  I knew a man wouldn't appreciate them as much as a woman so I decided to wait until it was his wife's birthday.  You can't really tell in the before picture but they were a tad bit rusty, dirty & a bit worn out.

I love a good short-lived project & these were so fun! I had the chevron & green & teal material on hand which went perfect with the few spray paint colors that I actually like. As for the tangerine color I picked out the spray paint color, than the fabric.  I was actually thinking that there were four chairs & I wanted to do the 4th a cute mustard color.  If you don't know me already, I LOVE FUN & BRIGHT COLORS!!! Let's LIVEN up the room people!!! Now my dad & his wife will actually want to bust these chairs out when people come over!

Here's the trick...  You can spray paint anything, but finding the right items that will actually look good spray painted is the key. When redoing chairs make sure you find chairs where the seat/fabric section is attached with screws, this way it is easier to recover & give you the new neat look. Also note each one of these chairs took a full can of primer & a full can of spray paint. I also bought plastic from the material section that I placed over the top of my material to make them more durable. Some stores carry printed plastic material which would have been perfect for these chairs (I learned this after the fact)...  Anyways I'm all about easy, I attached my material & plastic with a glue gun, I made sure to cut my material giving me enough room to tuck it under the seat so you couldn't see it.
