MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!!

Everything needs a home!  Shoes, coats, purses, hats, diaper bags, etc, etc... So I told my husband that all I wanted for Christmas was for him to build me something for our entry way that would hold all of these things.. (Were very limited on closet and storage space)... Well after doing some searching on KSL, I found just what i wanted & for much cheaper then my husband could build one for!  This is the unfinished version of what I wanted, but it's built and waiting for a sand & paint job & my favorite part - the hardware!  I picked this bad boy up over a month ago (I took a little road trip to Spanish Fork).... So worth the drive!!!  Now that the Holidays are behind us and now that I've finally decided on a color I hope to get going on this project soon, along with a list of others projects. Finished product pictures to come! I can't wait...

Look familiar??? Yes this is the Aqua entry table that I had painted and sold.  To make a long story short I had a sweet customer call me wanting my Aqua table for her daughter for Christmas, she had looked and looked for something the exact size, but went back and forth on the color because she knew that her daughter had wanted black...  After 3 phone calls later and an increase in price she talked me into the transformation!  She also had me paint a very cute shelf for another daughter's Christmas present.

ITEM'S FOR SALE

CABINET FOR SALE $135

This piece it so fun! And I'm absolutely in LOVE with it! (To the point that I'm tempted to keep it for myself)...

6 months later of hanging around my house unfinished, oh and 3 colors later I finally finished it, and I love how it turned out!

This item has been refinished in teal blue, stained, glazed and topped with a protective coat.
Length: 34inches, Width: 12.5inches, Height: 29inches.

This piece would add great color to any room or area! You could even top it off with a flat screen and hide your tv components in the cupboard below. (Keep in mind it would have to be a smaller dvd player) it fits my husbands Xbox, but as far a my old school VCR it was a no go... As my husband would say "who has a VCR anymore".. Apparently I keep holding onto ours for that one day that we may need it I guess......

Thanks for Looking!

Cabinet Make Over.....

So I lied my painting days started WAY back when.... I've been reminiscing..... so I thought i would share my first cabinet make over! Back in 2007!  I wish i had a before picture of my old Kitchen, dated cabinets, no knobs, pink counter tops, no back splash...  Let me just fill you in on a little secret I sprayed my cabinets with Spray paint (Which now i can't believe i didn't pass out from the paint fumes because i had NO window in my kitchen or bathroom)...
You're probably thinking spray paint??? I actually learned the idea from a guy that paints in my mom's old ward, which had a new home and he had done this to his NEW cabinets and they looked amazing! Oh but what a mess it was, the dust from the spray paint filled the rest of my place with an inch of dust!  The clean up was not fun!  (I ended up using a darker stain on the edges and cracks and added the knobs as the finishing touch)..  As for the counter tops:  I then met my amazing and talented husband who worked his magic on getting rid of the pink & he added bead board to the right side of the cabinets to dress them up a bit!  AMEN to the happy day of NO pink counter tops! He did a great job! As for the bathroom luckily the counter tops were white, so i just stained the edge to match the cabinets.  Sometimes you just have to work with what ya got!!!

Night stand for sale! SOLD

Who doesn't LOVE Pink & Zebra print together?!  This night stand has such a fun vintage look & would be super cute in any girls room! This item could be yours for only $45

These are just a few of my items that i have for sale!  I have been selling my refinished furniture & findings at this fun store since May of this year! But I'm sad to say that they are closing....

logo
For those of you who've never been, it's a fun little shop on Main & Gentile in Layton.  It has a little of this & that! (sometimes really random stuff)....
What really drew me in was the furniture and the creativity that was used! After visiting this store many times in the last few years I got inspired to get crafty & join in on the fun of refinishing furniture! I recently got the bad news that they were closing their doors on December 31st..... I was bummed to hear this news because I had great goals and furniture stacking up in my house and garage to refinish that i was planning to sell here in the new year!  Since, being 5 months pregnant and lacking the motivation & time I have pulled my items from this store, which FINALLY brought me to this blog (months & months later than planned.) Anyways for those of you who have not ever been - STOP in before they close!

While I'm on the subject of fun little shops, I thought i would share some of the other fun shops around that you may not know about....

CONSIGN & DESIGN

1050 W. Shephard Lane #6, Farmington.

This shop is a must!  It has some fun findings & great items.  Not to mention my favorite part of all is that you can take your home decorations that you're bored of, (but yet you keep holding onto simply because you may use them one day and can't seem to part with them because you've spent some good money on them - Take them in!  You make 50/50 if your item sells within a 3 month span.
My thought is: "IN WITH THE NEW, OUT WITH THE OLD"....  Clean house!
Also while your cleaning house, clean out your closets and visit another fun shop right next store to Consign & Design.. They take higher end, like new clothing items... So for all of you who have those love-hate relationships with certain shirts...  Again "IN WITH THE NEW OUT WITH THE OLD" Plus you might just find a cute shirt or handbag or something fun!

Who doesn't LOVE shopping & decoratating in one trip?!
