Happy Black Friday

I have forever changed this dressers life!!! It always makes me feel good to take something that was once so ugly and make it have life again!!! I have the sweetest client that just keeps coming back for more!! It started with the country style table I finished a couple months ago, then the cute white vanity, a chair, then the taller night stand, now this!! And I'm finishing up a large kitchen hutch that she may buy as well along with one of her own dressers that she wants redone! I'm feeling blessed knowing her & being able to fulfill some of her wants & needs!!

Oh so cute vintage headboard

Oh how I feel like a furniture hoarder sometimes... I have furniture at my dads, my grandpas, my shop, my garage... The problem is i just can't stop myself or i literally have regrets for days. Sometimes it takes me walking away from an item to realize the beauty of the piece, not to mention time to connect with my inner creative side.. Luckily for this piece I spotted it at my grandpas neighbors garage sale one Saturday, which I told myself NO more until I finish the furniture that I do have. So I passed it up, but could not stop thinking about it... Awe so Monday came and I had a lunch date with my gramps and I couldn't help myself but to go knock on the neighbors door to see if they still had it! And here it is!!! I guess you can say I'm a bit obsessive compulsive sometimes.... Or just a weirdo! :)
So this Queen size bed awaits a paint job!! I'm thinking a fun color or a soft pink, antiqued.. Oh how it would be so cute with this bedding from target..

DIY STOCKINGS

TIS THE SEASON TO GET CRAFTY

For some reason fall comes & I get the itch to get crafty...  I actually started off wanting to make a layered ruffled tree skirt which I found on Pinterest, visit Here for more information on the tree skirt. So I bought the material and everything for the skirt,  but we moved right after Christmas so I only had time to make these stockings.  I plan on making the tree skirt by thanksgiving this year....

This one was my first attempt & is my least favorite, but it was still fun & cute!

My son's is the pok-a-dot one & my daughters is the one on the right.

Mom, dad, brother & sister

HOW TO:
This is Easy crafting right here!!! Ok here's the exciting part, I picked up the stockings from Dollar tree which were just cheap looking and basic felt & I got most of my fabric from Ben Franklins in Kaysville & just started cutting, tucking & gluing.  I added a little lace, a little burlap, floral ribbon. Now the back of the stockings are another story....  NOT so pretty! I debated whether or not to add our names to them...  After this picture was taken I found tiny chalk board ornaments that I attached with cute little clips!!  I so wish I had a picture of the chalk boards attached and seeing how it's October they are stored away for now, but you get the idea right?! Here's an important tip, if you want your fabric edges looking clean and not frayed make sure and pick up some Fray Check from your local craft store and add it to your edges. Have fun crafting!!!

DIY FOLDING CHAIRS

GIVE YOUR FOLDING CHAIRS A NEW LOOK!!!

I just had to share a fun DIY project...  My grandma passed away last November and my dad was cleaning out her house before it was going to be torn down, and I noticed these chairs were tucked away in his storage shed & I thought to myself before my dad throws those chairs out I ought to redo them.  I knew a man wouldn't appreciate them as much as a woman so I decided to wait until it was his wife's birthday.  You can't really tell in the before picture but they were a tad bit rusty, dirty & a bit worn out.

I love a good short-lived project & these were so fun! I had the chevron & green & teal material on hand which went perfect with the few spray paint colors that I actually like. As for the tangerine color I picked out the spray paint color, than the fabric.  I was actually thinking that there were four chairs & I wanted to do the 4th a cute mustard color.  If you don't know me already, I LOVE FUN & BRIGHT COLORS!!! Let's LIVEN up the room people!!! Now my dad & his wife will actually want to bust these chairs out when people come over!

Here's the trick...  You can spray paint anything, but finding the right items that will actually look good spray painted is the key. When redoing chairs make sure you find chairs where the seat/fabric section is attached with screws, this way it is easier to recover & give you the new neat look. Also note each one of these chairs took a full can of primer & a full can of spray paint. I also bought plastic from the material section that I placed over the top of my material to make them more durable. Some stores carry printed plastic material which would have been perfect for these chairs (I learned this after the fact)...  Anyways I'm all about easy, I attached my material & plastic with a glue gun, I made sure to cut my material giving me enough room to tuck it under the seat so you couldn't see it.

Table For Sale - SOLD

Be the first to eat on this newly refinished Table! This table is very sturdy & clean.  Painted with a fresh clean white, & sealed with a protective coat for your everyday wear and tear. If I were to keep this table I would add two fabric covered chairs to the ends of this table & buy four white chairs from Ikea that are $50 each... I'm loving the mismatched chairs these days.  The sky's the limit, get creative and add some fashion to your dining area! (Again don't judge this item by my beautiful artwork on the floor & walls of my shop... I wish I had more space to work with).....

(These pics were taken at my shop... so please don't judge the floor!!!!)
